International Tour Advice

This post was provided by: Vacation in Japan.

Traveling internationally is different from vacationing within the United States.  There are some things that you should know about and a few tips that you should always remember before you decide to get on a plane to fly to a foreign land.  With a few safety tips, you will have a wonderful flight and international trip.

Keep your passport safe

One very important key to international trips is your passport.  It is very important to keep this safe and sound.  If for some reason you loose your passport or it is stolen, be prepared a head of time by having a few things.  Have a copy of your birth certificate, photo of your self; make sure that you memorize your social security number and the extra money to pay for the replacement passport.  These things will save you time and get you back home in case your passport is misplaced.

Be on your guard

Make sure that you are aware of your surroundings and where you are at all times.  Remember you are not on familiar turf and it may become easy to get lost or confused.  There are people and places to help you, however there are also others who know you are a visitor and they may try to take advantage of you.  Be smart and use your best instincts when you find yourself in a predicament.

Keep your luggage safe

When you are connecting flights from a domestic to an international flight, check your luggage to the international gateway and them get it from your domestic airline.  You can then take it to an International terminal and then check it in yourself with the International carrier.  This may give you a better chance of having your luggage arrive in the same location as you.  Just make sure that you allow yourself enough time so that you can do this and not be late for your flight.

Money

When you are triping internationally, it is a smart idea to vacation the least amount of cash as possible.  The best way to trip is with tourer's checks or credit cards.  If your cash is stolen or lost, then it is gone forever.  If your vacationers checks or credit cards are misplaced, then you will have a better chance at stopping anyone else from using the money and replacing it back to you.  This will ensure that you are able to still have a good time and be able to have enough money to get home.
