Hi, I’m Marco, owner and manager of Rent a Room “Al Centro Storico di Roma”. It is in a period building dating back to the early 20th century located in the centre in Via Merulana, situated between the Basilicas of St. John Lateran and St Mary Major, and the Colosseum, that can be reached by foot, through the green, historical Oppian Hill Park and Via Labicana.

Upon your arrival at Rent a Room, Luana and I will give you a warm and courteous welcome and will be at your complete disposal to make your stay in Rome pleasant and memorable.

Rent a Room “Al Centro Storico di Roma” is located in Via Merulana, 117 – 00185 Rome.
Via Merulana is situated in the historical centre of Rome between the Basilicas of St. John Lateran and St Mary Major and is behind Oppian Hill with its historical park that dominates the Domus Aurea, the Colosseum and the Roman Forum, enchanting those fortunate enough to admire such wonders.

Thanks to its central location it is also well connected by buses and the Metro, Manzoni station (Line A) and Colosseo station (Line B) and is only 4 stops away from the central train station Termini.

Rent a Room “Al Centro Storico di Roma” is only a short 5 minute walk away from the Colosseum and once there you are surrounded by monuments and the historical squares that have made Rome the “Eternal City”.

The apartment, silent, sunny and completely renovated, is composed of elegantly furnished rooms, all with private bathroom, air conditioning, T.V, Wi-Fi internet connection, free telephone calls to all Italian land lines and safety deposit box.


On arrival after check-in you will be given the room keys.
Check- in is at 1pm (possibly earlier)
Payment of the rooms must be made upon your arrival at the apartment
Check out is at 11:00am
Rooms are cleaned daily
Linen (bed sheets and towels) are changed every 3 days of stay.
Breakfast is served in the rooms from 8:30am to 10:30am
No smoking
Animals are not allowed

By train: from the airport you can take the train to the central station, Roma Termini, and in front of the station in the Square, there are bus stops. Take bus no. 16 or no. 714 and get off at the second stop in Via Merulana.
