Enjoy London With A Good Chauffeur Driver

Are you planning to travel to London for business or pleasure over the next few months?  If you are, an excellent way to get the most out of your trip to this historical city is to use a private chauffeur service.  From the moment you set foot on British soil a chauffeur company will be able to save you time and trouble.

Entering through Gatwick?  Chances are that you are, because high numbers of travelers pass through this busy airport.  In fact Gatwick is one of Europe's busiest runway airports. With its labyrinth of terminals and departure halls, it can be difficult to find your way out of the airport let alone to your hotel.  Ease your worries by having a chauffeur company booked in advance. Try the people at the gatwick airport transfers site.  A driver will be waiting for you in the departure lounge with your name on a board in front of him.  Relax as your luggage is taken from you to a waiting vehicle in nearby airport parking facility.  From there its straight to your hotel.

You will relax in the back of a luxury vehicle like a Mercedes leaving your driver to the tricky task of navigating through London's busy traffic systems.  Your chauffeur can leave you at your hotel or can also wait for you, if you have an immediate engagement or if you so desire.

If you have meetings what better way is there to get there on time, and with the minimum of hassle than to have a chauffeur driver waiting for you, able to drive you straight to your destination and onward to your next meeting with a minimum of hassle and fuss.

But the convenience and service of an expert chauffeur driver doesn't have to end there.  After-hours a chauffeur car driver can also act as an expert tour guide.  Several chauffeur companies do in fact also provide a private tour service of London.

You can take a luxury tour of all the important historical sites of London such as Buckingham Palace, Marble Arch, the Houses of Parliament and the famous Tower of London.  Your driver will also be able to take you further afield to historic sites across Britain such as, Stonehenge, Windsor Castle, and the Cotswolds and even the beautiful North country - Scotland.

Hopefully by now you can see why when you next visit Britain a professional chauffeur driver will allow you to enjoy your trip with greater enjoyment and comfort.

UK Holiday Destinations – South Yorkshire And The Peak District

A trip to England opens up a world of opportunities and whilst being a relatively small country compared to some, you will still have a large choice of places to visit. To experience the ruggedness of the English countryside along side the friendliness of the locals then South Yorkshire has to be on your agenda.

The image of smoking chimneys and mass industrialisation is in reality a bit of a misnomer for modern day Yorkshire, these days industry is much more subdued, but while still here the region has far more greater treasures to offer.

The region did have its roots in both industry and mining (mainly in the north and east of the region) and is well known for the famous Sheffield steel and the most affluent families in the world no doubt will own perhaps a canteen or two of solid silver cutlery.

Situated partially in the historic Peak District National Park a visit to South Yorkshire will give you unprecedented access to this, one of the world’s most famous and largest national parks, which has enough to keep even the most active of holiday makers busy for a lifetime.

The Peak District is an absolute dream for keen outdoor types and there is plenty to do to stretch your experiences as well as your pocket. From bird watching to mountain biking and climbing to caving there’s a lot to see and do, but for that ultimate experience , weather permitting you may even want to indulge in balloon trip or even a helicopter ride around the peaks.

More Peak District Tourist Information can be found here.

The area is also home to a number of historic buildings you can visit whilst your out and about most of which are National heritage properties.

Cannon Hall museum and gardens are well worth a visit if you like to see the history of the country. The hall is a country house museum and was the home of the Spencer family. Exhibits in the museum include fine art, furniture and collections of glassware, and if you have an interest in anything of a military nature you’ll also be pleased to find a couple of regimental museums housed here as well.

If you like the hustle and bustle of city life, visit Sheffield, one of the largest cities in England. You could consider Sheffield as the London of the north as it has the largest theatre complex outside London, and is home to the world renowned Crucible and Lyceum theatres.

If you’re thinking of staying in Sheffield visit the Artful Lodger website for Sheffield property to rent and Sheffield estate agents information.

Must Read Guide to Visiting New York City

There are few places on the earth that are quite like New York City. If you do not stay there, you will never fully know what it will be like to be there. I do not, but I have been there a few times. While the city is quite something to see, you do have to know a few things before you visit New York City. These things will make you safer, and will ensure that you have a very good time no matter how much or how little time you have to spend there.

You should think about safety issues when you visit New York City. Though some of the stories about crime are greatly exaggerated, there is some truth to it. Protect yourself and anything that you are carrying. You are far safer if you travel in groups, even though that is not always possible. What you want to do is to be sure of where you are going, and to be aware of what is around you at all times when you visit New York City. You should be safe enough if you take care.

When you visit New York City, you probably have a reason for going. Though some go just to see the city, they often go when they know something specific is going on. The city is very dense and it can be hard to get from one end to the other. You should always try to get a hotel very near what you want to do while you visit New York City so that you don’t have to worry too much about getting there late or missing things all together.

If you are staying longer than a few days when you see New York City, you should learn a little about the public transportation system. If you are not use to driving there, you may not want to try it. Some do, and that is fine, but it is simply not necessary. There is a good subway and bus system, but it can be quite confusing. If you are going from your hotel, ask someone at the desk to give you specific instructions on how to get where you are going. Write them down. This means you won’t get lost when you visit New York City.

Lastly, we aware that walking can be a bit dangerous when you go to visit New York City. The cab drivers there do everything they can to get people where they are going as quickly as they can. That means you should watch out when crossing the street and even when walking down the sidewalk. You should always watch because you could fall into something as well. You have never seen anything quite like New York City, just be sure you are safe while there and you will have an amazing memory to last a lifetime. Don't forget also to look for the numerous New York City Tours

Save Money Traveling In South Korea

Traveling in South Korea can be an eye opening experience for everyone. The country has numerous scenic locations, from the Jeju Islands to the various cultural heritage relics that pepper their landscape. Even though a large part of the South Korea peninsula is made up of mountainous regions, you will never find it physically challenging to see the country. This is in part, thanks to a well planned and efficient transport system that stretches all over its various provinces and city centers.

However, enjoying a holiday in South Korea can be an expensive exercise as well. The economic boom that the country enjoyed in the 1990s and early 2000s led to increased affluence. This in turn resulted in unavoidable higher costs of living, even as the currency strengthened over time. Therefore, if one were to make a trip to the beautiful Land of the Morning Calm, he or she would be well advised to plan and budget the trip with that in mind. There are definitely many ways that one can still have a fun holiday in South Korea, without having to burn holes in their pockets.

One of the best ways is to plan an itinerary that focuses on the various interesting sights and locations that do not require entrance fees, or at least low ones. No one can claim to have visited South Korea without having visited the many fascinating temples that have a long history and tradition in the country. These places of worship never require any fees, and there is always a charm about them that everyone will enjoy. Seoul, the capital of South Korea, has other attractions that are also free to visit and will occupy you for the best part of several days, including the amazing Namdaemun Gate, the many palaces such as Gyeongbok-gung and the tranquil parks, with Yongsan Park a popular choice.

If there is one thing that could easily add up on your South Korea travel expenses, it would be that of food. Part of the reason would be the limitless choice of delicious cuisines that one would find hard to turn down. But food in South Korea is expensive, especially so in Seoul. As much as possible, try to dine in the various food stalls or small eateries that can be found anywhere, as prices are much lower, with great hospitality. While you might enjoy professional table waiting services in restaurants, expect to pay a lot more. But you will never go hungry when dining in South Korea, and might not even be able to finish all the food at times.

Finding an affordable place to stay during your trip can make a huge difference to your overall budget. South Korea is similar to Japan, in the sense that accommodations can be pricey. But there are hotels or serviced apartments that are relatively cheaper, and offer the same high level of services and amenities. In Seoul, there is the budget chain of serviced apartments known as the Co-Op that is popular with travelers who seek comfortable accommodations at low cost. For example, the Western Co-Op Residence Serviced Apartments, situated right in the bustling Dongdaemun, is one of the top hotel picks for tourists in South Korea. Their availability makes it easier to book cheap Seoul hotels, saving you money.

There are many other money saving tips one can have for traveling in South Korea. Every little detail helps, and while it might require some time to prepare ahead of the trip, the rewards are well worth the effort.

The Camper’s Delight: Wax Fire Starters

I am a big fan of camping, at least until I get out to it.  Usually, my biggest gripe with camping is trying to get a campfire lit to take the chill out of the morning.  Everyone is huddled around a dead campfire, teeth chattering, waiting for something to happen so they can warm up after a cool night in the tent and start making breakfast.

It never fails, the campfire takes longer than it did the night before but if you have the camper’s secret weapon, wax fire starters, you can get those campfires going in no time.  Not only are the wax fire starters weather resistant and handy, they are also a great way to get rid of your excess candle wax that you have lying around the house.

When it comes to making the Wax Fire Starters, it is very easy to make.  You should be careful since you will be working with hot wax and this is not an activity that I would recommend that you do with kids.  It is a craft that doesn’t need too many supplies and they are fairly inexpensive to make.

What you need:

• Old wax (this can be old candles or even crayons.  You could also go and purchase wax from a craft store)

• Sawdust or wood chips

• Dryer Lint

• Muffin Tin

• Wax Muffin Cups

• Double boiler

Directions:

1. Remove all the wicks and wrappings from the candles and crayons.  Set them aside.

2. Place all the old wax into the double boiler and melt on medium-low heat.  If you don’t have a double boiler, use a coffee can or a boil and place it inside a pot filled with a few inches of water.  Make sure to keep the water level high enough to burn the pot and also be careful not to spill the bowl.

3. Before you begin melting the wax, fill the muffin tin with the muffin cups.

4. Add some dryer lint to the muffin cups.

5. With the sawdust or wood chips, there are two ways that you can use them.  The first way is to add them to the melted wax, making a wax and wood mixture.  The second is to add them to the muffin cups.  It is simply a matter of preference and I don’t think one works better than the other.

6. After the wax has melted completely, carefully pour it into each of the muffin cups.  Make sure to leave about half an inch between the top of the tin and the wax.

7. Set to the side and allow them to cool completely.

8. Store them in plastic baggies for the camping trip. The best way to wrap them is individually in a paper towel so there is no chance that they will melt and stick together.

Once you are camping and enjoying the great outdoors, the wax fire starters are very easy to use.  All you need to do is set up a tepee or log cabin of kindling, place the fire starter in the center and light it.  It should flare up and burn for about 5 minutes, long enough to catch the kindling and get your fire going.

One of the best features of wax fire starters are the fact that they can be used in practically any type of weather.  They are water resistant and keep down the amount of supplies that you need in your camping inventory.

Before you use a fire starter, it is important to stress that fire starters should never be used as a candle.  They burn very quickly and very hot and will cause serious injuries if you use them for anything except outdoor campfire starters.

Falmouth Holidays: Things To See and Do When You Stay in Falmouth in Cornwall

The port and town of Falmouth is located on the River Fal and is on England’s south coast in the County of Cornwall.  Falmouth has the third deepest natural harbor in the world and has been the starting and finishing point for many round the world sailing voyages. Such people who have carried out such record breaking attempts are Sir Francis Chichester and Dame Ellen MacArthur. But it isn't just the town that is interesting there are plenty of fascinating attractions when you visit Falmouth.

The National Seal Sanctuary was opened in 1958 after a baby seal that was only a few hours old washed up on the beach in St Agnes. The sanctuary stayed at St Agnes until 1975, when it outgrew the facilities there. The sanctuary then moved to Gweek and Ken (its owner) added more pools so that he could cater for more rescued seals from around Cornwall.

The seals are cared for with a view to returning them to the wild as soon as possible.  But those seals who have suffered too many injuries are kept at the sanctuary if they wouldn't be capable of surviving again in the wild.

Just south east of Falmouth is Pendennis Castle which is situated across the harbor from its castle St Mawes. Both castles were built in the time of the Tudors and were an important part of the UK's sea defenses during the time of Henry VIII. Their main aim was to deter invaders from Spain and France.

Since its construction it has been used over the centuries and remains in excellent condition to this day. Elizabeth I had the castle strengthened and it had the honor of being the last Royalist stronghold to fall in the English Civil War. Plus the castle then was utilized during both the First and Second World Wars and you can still see the guard house and underground tunnels from these troubled times. Plus you have a chance to visit the Tudor Keep which has been well maintained and in which a gun deck has been recreated.

Close to Falmouth is the Lizard Peninsula, the most southern point in England and even though Land's End is often thought to hold this position. When you visit Lizard Point there is plenty for one to do and see from the Goonhilly Earth Station with the satellite dishes that stand out. Plus as you walk along the National Trust owned costal path look towards the see you may spot some seals or dolphins and even possibly a basking shark.

In Falmouth itself there are plenty of attractions that visitors to this coastal town can enjoy. One of these is Trebah Gardens, which can be found on the outskirts of Falmouth, close to Mawnan Smith village. The gardens are spread over twenty five acres and feature a wide selection of plant life. But along with the plants there is a large pond, a waterfall and private beach area as well.

You can spend quite some considerable time exploring all that these gardens have to offer and there is a cafe where light refreshments are provided. Plus if you find the children are getting a little bored just exploring the gardens then take them to the playground to let off some steam. The gardens are open through the year although the times of opening and closing do differ.

Check out the wide variety of Falmouth hotels and guest houses here.

Obtaining A Jet Charting Membership Card

last minute hotel deals

Are you interested in chartering a private jet? If you are, there is a good chance that you have already done a little bit of research online. While searching websites of jet chartering private companies, did you run into a membership card or plan?  Since many private jet chartering companies offer these types of plans, there is a good chance that you have seen them before.Ever wonder why you should join a membership program?  If you have, you are definitely not alone.

When it comes to joining a jet chartering membership program, there are many individuals who wonder if they should join, but even more individuals wonder what they are. Although it is not uncommon to find these types of membership plans available online, it is somewhat difficult to learn what they are. There seems to be a perception among the jet chartering companies that expect consumers to know all about their membership plans. Some people unfortunately choose to not join a membership program when they can benefit from doing so.

When looking to lean more about private jet chartering membership cards, it is best if you compare it to something that you know or are familiar with, like grocery store savings cards. If you sign up for a grocery store savings card, you are given extra benefits just for being considered a member.  These benefits may include specials deals or savings, newsletters, and much more.  The same can be said for a private jet chartering membership. You'll be offered perks if you sign up for a membership; not all travellers have access to these perks.  Just a few of these extra member benefits are outlined below.

One of the many benefits to joining a private jet chartering membership plan is the option of making your reservations at the last minute.  For regularly travelers, it is not uncommon for a company to request that reservations be placed at least forty-eight hours in advance.  With a jet chartering membership, you are given a little bit more flexibility.According to most jet chartered companies, members are allowed to make reservations up to twelve hours beforehand.  This extra perk is nice if you are business owner or business executive who regularly finds yourself making last minute travel bargains for meetings.

The ease of use is another benefit when joining a private jet chartering company. When you join a membership program, a special account is created for you. This account will likely hold all of your travel information, like your address, your billing information, your jet preferences, and so on.  When it comes time to booking a private jet charter, this membership should be able to save you a considerable amount of time, as you are able to bypass a lot of the needed paperwork.  If you have a membership card that allows you to place deposits on it, you may be able to have your reservations processed and paid for in no time at all.  In fact, that is one of the many reason why members are often given the option to make last minute flight deals arrangements.

The decision as to whether or not you want to join a private jet chartering membership club or plan is yours to make, but it is something that is worth looking into. If you have any questions or concerns about the program, you are advised to contact a company representative for more information.

Hotel Rating Websites Are A Very Useful Resource

Are you planning a business trip or vacation at some point in the near future? If so, you should probably make use of one or two of the many hotel rating websites available on the internet in order to help ensure that you make a reservation at the most comfortable accommodation that you can afford. Hotel rating websites are a very practical resource for frequent travelers or anybody who is planning a trip either within the United States or somewhere overseas. They are particularly handy for any individual who would like to experience all the comforts of home regardless of where they are in the world.

These Websites Aren't Just About Stars And Diamonds

All hotel rating websites use a classification system of stars or diamonds in order to indicate the price, comfort and quality of various accommodations. The best hotels have a rating of four or five stars or diamonds, while more basic accommodations will usually have less. You can use these ratings as a useful guide in order to determine which accommodations are most likely to suit your needs and your budget. However, there is a great deal more to hotel rating websites than stars and diamonds. Hotel rating websites usually include several informative articles about various accommodations around the world as well as notifying consumers of any special offers that are available at any given time. Therefore perusing hotel rating websites on a regular basis could actually save you quite a bit of money. These websites also contain lots of information about all of the very best hotels all over the world, which is great for anybody who happens to be planning a once in a lifetime trip.

Never Book A Hotel Without Researching It First

The most useful aspect of hotel rating websites is the fact that they allow consumers to find out more about any hotel they may be considering staying at, regardless of its location. It is actually rather unwise to book a stay at a hotel without doing a little investigating to see what former guests are saying about it. By doing your research you can avoid staying at any accommodation that is generally considered uncomfortable or overpriced. After all, nobody likes to feel that they have been duped into wasting their money on a product or service that is not very good. So if you are planning to book a trip of any kind, do yourself a favor and take a look at some hotel rating websites today.

St Andrews: Where To Stay In This Golfer's Paradise

The town of St Andrews situated on the east coast of Fife in Scotland is a place better known for being the home of golf. The Royal and Ancient Golf Club was originally founded in 1754 and rules the game of golf worldwide, with the exceptions of Mexico and America. Each year the Open Championship (the oldest golf championship) takes place at the St Andrews course.

Although it's not something you immediately associate with Scotland, the town also features a number of sandy beaches. When it comes to where to stay when visiting St Andrews whether to play a round of golf or just to relax you've got a wide choice available.  Below we take a look at just some of the accommodation that is currently available.

1.     Ardgowan Hotel – This one is situated just 180 yards from St Andrews Old Course and the University, which, like this hotel, are both in the center of the town. The building comprises two Georgian houses which have been joined together and which were designed by Sir William Playfair a renowned Scottish architect. You can choose from the hotel's 19 rooms and you can relax in the private gardens around the hotel. All the food that is served both in the bar and restaurant is local produced and of the highest quality.

2.     Links Hotel – This establishment can be found in Golf Place and is almost on top of the St Andrews Old Course 18th Hole. Dating back to 1824 the walls of this hotel have been privvy to the secrets of many of the world's eminent golfers and hosted some of the first golf tournaments in the town.  However, along with being situated so close to the famous Old Course you are only a short walk away from St Andrew’s Castle, Cathedral and University.

3.    Old Course Hotel – This is the one that when you watch the Open Championship is the one that shows as you come to the 17th Hole. It oversees the "Road Hole" and has wonderful views of the West Sands and Fife coastline. Although this is for the hotel for the keen golfer there is plenty for one to do as it comes with a luxury spa with a number of different therapy rooms one can enjoy.

4.    Russell Hotel – The Russell is a terraced house next to the Scores, has views across St Andrews Bay and the hotel has a Victorian theme. When you choose this hotel, you'll be very near the Old Course, you can be standing on the first tee within a couple minutes of the hotel or you can nip into the town centre just as easily.

5.    St Andrews Golf Hotel – Another superb choice for a game on the Old Course and your room could offer you a view of St Andrews Links as well. It has been recently refurbished and is a boutique hotel to further help you relax whilst enjoying all that the town of St Andrews and the surrounding area has to offer. If you're thinking of organizing a golfing holiday, this hotel should be on your short list.

What to do in Paris

It is important to plan your vacation before packing your bags and driving to the airport especially when your destination is a place like Paris. Paris offers an amazing range of activities and you don't want to waste your time in the City of Lights. Paris has so much to offer you won't want to waste a minute. Of course you would want a worthwhile stay in the very famous city. Plan where you will stay before you get on the plane. There are many options and cover all price ranges - whether you need a 5-star luxury or a just a clean and comfortable Parisian bed

For a cheaper accommodation, you may want to consider a Paris apartment. It has a lesser cost compared to a luxurious hotel suite but you can surely have a home away from home ambiance. The next thing to plan is what to visit after billeting in your Paris apartment.

There are lots of places to visit when you are in Paris; from the most historic to most contemporary. Your vacation in Paris will be memorable when you carefully considered and plan what part of the city you will visit. Historical structures and buildings are sprinkled inside the city that you should not miss. There are also a lot of museums that display historical art pieces up to the most modern creations. You can't say you have been to Paris until you have tried at least a few fine dining restarunts. Shopping completes the list of activities that will make your stay in Paris meaningful.

No one will forget to visit the symbol of Paris which is the Eiffel Tower. This 320-meter tower is well recognized in the whole world as a symbol of the city of Lights and as well as the whole country of France. The Eiffel tower was built for the 1889 Word Fair. It is a very fulfilling experience to climb the top of the tower for you will be able to see the whole of Paris during the day or at night. That's a fair few stairs and at least you will sleep well that night in your central Paris lodgings.

Australia: Best Season to Visit

Time your visit right to Australia and check out Australia's holiday calendar. The biggest holiday of the year is generally from Christmas through to late January. Some areas it will be difficult to find a room. Some of Australia's public holidays calendar vary by state

Ironically the most settled weather in southern Australian states Victoria and Tasmania is actually later in February. In contrast the peak holiday period for far northern Australia is the dry season which starts in May and runs through to October. Its worth checking out the 2009 Australia holiday calendar so that you are aware of local events which can make it hard to find a bed. Across Australia you will encounter a variety of school terms: either three or four a year. Unless if you have kids in school travelling outside the school holidays is always a good idea.

The Land Down Under is not only backwards in the seasons but also highly varied. Although most northern hemisphere residents see Australia as the land of hot long summers. The reality is more complex. Contrary to image of endless beaches Australia has several good ski areas in the winter. In contrast in the far north there is no summer: just a wet and dry season. Once the rains come in the north travelling is restricted to boats and sealed roads as the country turns to mud.

Buy yourself a pocket Australia 2009 holiday calendar as soon as you arrive. That way you will be on top of the confusing holidays including Queen's Birthday and Labour Day which vary right across the year depending on the state. Australia-wide there is consistently in a few national holidays including ANZAC Day and Australia Day but apart from these exceptions Australia is a mess of different holidays - and don't even get me started on the timezones!

Going on Vacation the Affordable Way

Taking a holiday once a year does not have to place great stress on your already stretched finances. Why not have a group of people to travel with. This is a more affordable option than travelling on your own because airlines and hotels give discounts when groups make a booking. You can book a full house and share the costs of the rooms. In addition, you won’t be alone because you have friends on holiday with you

Booking your holiday plans early can save you dollars when you want to go to a specific location or stay at a certain hotel or resort. You are assured of getting the best rooms and you know that the flights will not be fully booked. You can also take advantage of using any air miles you have accumulated to cut down on the costs. Using your air miles is a great way of saving on the cost of flights at any time, but the later you book the more air miles you will need. When you book early and take out a vacation loan, you may even have the loan paid in full before you leave on vacation, so you won’t have this added expense when you return home.

All-inclusive vacations are often great cash saving ideas. This is especially true if you look for offers offered in the off-season. These are times when the popular locations will not be blocked with tourists, but you also run the risk of not being able to gain admission to popular attractions because they are closed for the season. One time of the year when you can avail of such offers is in September when the children all return to school. Very few families travel at this time and so there are deals to be had

The fluctuation in exchange rates can affect the cost of your holiday. Check the exchange rates for UK currency in different countries to find one where your dollar will go a lot further. Thus, you could save a bundle in the cost of hotel rooms, meals and the articles you buy when shopping

Look for a great deal on an all-inclusive holiday or a package deal. With an all-inclusive vacation all the costs of your air travel, rooms and meals are included in the price. You can also get a package deal that includes the cost of a rental car for the duration of your vacation or admission tickets to a popular attraction, such as Disney Land. This will save you cash because you won’t have to shell out extra cash for those tickets

Other options for saving cash on a vacation include swapping houses with a person in another country or even in another city of your home country. Since everyone has to buy groceries, this won’t add to the cost of your meals. The only cost you will incur in this suggestion for saving cash on a vacation is that of your travel. You do have to make sure that the person you choose to swap homes with for a week or two is trustworthy and will not destroy your home.

If you are short of dollars for your next vacation a unsecured loan or even a new credit card can help to fix any short term cash flow problems that you have. If you are to use any finance from loans or credit cards it should be noted that these will be required to be paid back.

Winter Sun in Lanzarote

Whilst the rest of Europe is packing away the loungers and the suntan lotion the Canary Islands are preparing themselves for the busiest holiday season of the year. As these seven specks of Spain that lie just off the coast of Africa are Europe´s only genuine Winter sun destination.

The most easterly of the Canary Islands, Lanzarote, is home to a population of around 127,000 people and is a unique melting pot of African, European and South American influences. Thanks to its historic position as a staging post between the Old World and the New.

Over one million British and Irish tourists will have bought cheap flights to Lanzarote over the last twelve months. And the Christmas and New Year period is traditionally the busiest time of year on the island. As sun starved Northern Europeans escape the cold back home for a week or two in the sun.

As a result demand for Lanzarote property has remained relatively stable. Whilst prices have started to fall on the island there has been none of the sharp reductions and adjustments currently evident in the British market. As the island’s tourist industry has remained buoyant.

This can be attributed to the fact that Lanzarote has much more to offer tourists than just sunshine alone though. As the island boasts a unique volcanic scenery, beautiful beaches, a host of natural attractions and some of the most unusual tourist sites found anywhere in the world. All of which is largely thanks to an island born artist and architect called Cesar Manrique.

Manrique was studying his craft and hanging out with the likes of Andy Warhol in New York when package tourism first started to take off in Spain. Alert to the damage that this could cause to his birthplace Manrique returned home to ensure that his beloved Lanzarote was not buried beneath a sea of five star concrete.

As a result of his efforts Lanzarote has largely been spared the type of over development now commonly found in other Spanish sun spots. High rise buildings are banned, advertising hoardings are outlawed and all of the islands three main tourist resorts are well contained.

Manrique also sought to create a set of unique tourist attractions that would provide an alternative to the golf courses and water parks so prevalent elsewhere in Spain.

In tandem with close collaborators such as Jesus Soto he lit an alternative path for island development with the creation of sites such as the Jameos del Agua, which embodied his desire to fuse art with nature.

The Advantages of a London Bed and Breakfast

Whether you are planning a quiet business trip or a romantic getaway, you'll need to find somewhere to stay in London. A bed and breakfast in London is one option to look at; however, you will need to determine whether this is the right option for you.

In recent years bed and breakfast accommodations have once again become popular for people who were looking for a warm and cozy place to stay for their vacation.

This type of accommodation is generally lower cost than London hotels. Travelers can enjoy home-cooked meals and the hospitality of locals.

Choosing a bed & breakfast offers quite a few advantages. Locals who are most familiar with the most interesting sights in the area, you can take advantage of having your own personal tour guide. Your host will be able to tell you everything you need to know about the best local attractions. They'll likely know short cuts and best routes to get to places.

If you're planning a shopping expedition in London, there's a good chance your hosts will be able to point you in the direction of some bargains.

If you like last minute trips, many London B&B's will welcome you, even without a booking, making it the perfect travel option for those spontaneous travelers who want to leave without a moment’s notice.

When considering your choices you should also consider staying in a hotel. Hotels usually offer a bigger room and higher quality of fixtures and fittings. You may also find your stay is more private and "anonymous" in a hotel room as opposed to a B&B. Most hotels have more amenities than B&Bs, such as gyms, bars, restaurants and even shops.

If you're looking for a London bed and breakfast, have a look at this list of London bed and breakfasts.

Where Can I Buy Affordable Airline Tickets?

airline tickets

As the cost of gasoline and all oil products has risen significantly over the last year or two, many other commodities and services have also risen in cost as a result. One of the many things that have been affected is airline tickets, which have gone up markedly. This fact has caused a greater number of travelers to work even more diligently at uncovering cheap plane tickets so that they can still afford to fly.

This has made it more difficult to find those really great discounts and special deals on flights around the country and abroad. On top of that, there are more and more people who need to travel by air because the cost of driving has gone up with the increase cost of gasoline. This means that in many cases it is now cheaper to fly, even for short distances, than it is to drive even with the higher cost of the ticket prices.

The fact is that there are several methods people can make use of to locate some excellent travel deals and to get themselves some cheap airline tickets, even nowadays. Because the airfare is often a large portion of a person's travel budget, the more they can reduce their air ticket costs, the more money they will have to spend when they are relaxing at their vacation destination.

One of the easiest and best methods of finding great deals on tickets is to take advantage of the websites that are so plentiful these days, which can help you to unearth those elusive cheap plane tickets. While you can always go directly to the official websites of the airlines, you can save a lot of time by using the travel websites that will draw the ticketing data from all of the airlines that fly to your destination. Just enter the date you wish to travel and your destination and soon you will have a very complete list of all your options, usually arranged to show you the cheapest ticket prices first.

If you have not yet made a firm decision on the destination of you trip, then you can also spend a bit of time perusing the various airline sites to see which destination have the best ticket prices. Often, a certain airline carrier operates from a few hub cities and it can be less expensive to fly into those hubs than to other destinations. If you compare the cost of flying into different cities, then you will soon see a pattern that will reveal which airlines are using that city as a hub. You can use this information to your advantage to get the best pricing on flights to those hubs. Often the hub cities are also great places to visit for vacations as well.

Some of the best deals in airline tickets can be found simply by subscribing to the newsletters that are published via email by the major airlines. When you subscribe to these newsletters you will get first notice of special bargains that the carrier is offering. The airlines prefer to have all of their flights as full as possible and they will often lower prices at the last minute to make the most of the plane's capacity.

Bath Attractions: Things To See and Do When You Stay in Bath

The city of Bath is situated around 13 miles from Bristol and 99 miles from England's capital London. The town has held a Royal Charter since 1590 which was granted by Queen Elizabeth I. However it wasn't actually given its administrative independence until 1889 and was made in to a county borough. It came back into Somerset's care recently, after a time in the then county of Avon.

Because of Bath's history, Bath is a major tourist attraction in the UK's West Country. Here are just a few of the things you can do when you visit Bath.

1. The Roman Baths – Probably the most famous attraction in Bath. Located in the heart of the city these are now the only surviving hot spring baths that were built by the Romans during their occupation. You can trace the water back to the spring and you can re-trace the Roman's footprints as you walk along the stone pavements. If you prefer a more modern style, there are also tea rooms here.

2. Jane Austen Centre – Here one can learn more about the city's most famous resident. Along with learning more about her life you can also learn about what life was like during Regency times. Everything in relation to Jane Austen is brought vividly to life through live guides, films and costumes. Not to mention the tea rooms to relax in. You can also enjoy some grand views of the city.

3. The Fashion Museum – This features fashion through the ages. The collection covers how clothing has changed from the sixteenth century to current times. The museum's collection of over 30,000 items of clothing are displayed on around 150 models.

4. Stanton Drew Stone Circles – No-one is quite sure how old these stone circles are but it will fire up your imagination as you explore and imagine what kinds of people would have visited it before you. It is also thought the famous designer John Wood used these stones as inspiration when he designed Bath's Royal Crescent and Circus. Just make sure the weather is on your side when you visit.

Because it attracts so many tourists, Bath has a wide range of hotels and other accommodation for you to stay in.

Choose your hotel in Bath from this list.

Do you want to move to or live in Boise Idaho?

Boise is the largest city in the great State of Idaho and is in the county of Ada nestled in the pacific northwest. This large vastly untapped gem of a state by the way thats the state motto (The Gem State) is a terrific place to live, vacation and of course raise a family.

The 2006 census bureau puts the population of Boise at around 198,638 but it still feels larger than that and growing quickly. The metropolitan area of Boise is estimated to have 635,450 inhabitants, making it the most populous metropolitan area in Idaho. The metro area would include the cities of Boise, Meridian and Nampa which are the three largest cities in the state. This would also be the area that is know as the Treasure Valley that stretches from Boise to the western border of Oregon.

I love the climate and seasons here in Boise, some would call the climate semi arid but you truly do get all four seasons. Winters are typically cold and summers can be very hot in the month of August that has a typical stretch of 100 degree weather for a good couple of weeks.

A great resource for other information and to find just about anything you want in boise is the directory of boise, which I have found to have listings of everything you want to find and know about Boise.

Boise weathered the housing bust up until spring-summer of 2007 when you saw considerable drops in housing prices due to over saturation of the market. Along with overbuilding that you saw in a number of other rapidly growing cities in the country like Las Vegas and Souther California. With that being said the housing market has seemed to stabilize a bit.

When you live in this part of the country there are a multitude of outdoor activities to participate in and enjoy. Summer provides hot weather for water sports and the winter provides snow sports with some of the best skiing in the world. Resorts like Sun Valley, McCall, Schweitzer Mountain and Jackson Hole is about a five hour drive from Boise.

Farming is a very large part of the local and state economy in Idaho and yes we still produce a large amount of our famous potatoes. But Idaho has become a high tech force to be reckoned with, with companies like Micron Inc. that employees approximately 20,000 worldwide. There are also a number of start up tech companies that reside and are headquartered in Boise.

We moved back to Boise from the Washington State and noticed first thing how much our insurance premiums dropped. Idaho Insurance rates are lower than major metro areas if you have clean records that is, why though I'm not sure but its nice to save that money!

If you are looking to move to the Boise Area or vacation here rest assured you will find something that you will bound to fall in love with like I have.

The accommodations are of a good standard and they are value for money as well. On top of that, if you've got children with you what could be more enjoyable than giving them the chance to mingle with the farm animals. Certainly, they will be able to go back to school after your vacation with a few tales for their friends.

Another cheap way of spending time in Torquay is to stay at one of the many camping and caravan parks, which can be found quite near the town centre. The environment is often very friendly and your children will find plenty of new friends whilst you're relaxing. You have the choice of either staying at ones which are right next to the coastline or those that are located a little further inland.

The caravans and mobile homes on these sites that you can rent offer you some of the luxuries you would expect at home. They have showers (and sometimes a bath), along with a kitchen and a TV, plus they're much bigger than the average room in a hotel. On average, depending on the exact unit you choose to rent you can expect to pay around £300 per week for a stay in one.

That said, if you want to be in the very heart of the town and be within walking distance of everything there then it's best to book a hotel, guesthouse or bed and breakfast for your stay. There are plenty of them to choose from and all will offer you good quality accommodation. Certainly, for those whose budget is somewhat limited then staying in a guesthouse or B&B will be cheaper than choosing a hotel.

When you're looking for somewhere to stay in Torquay, you can choose your accommodation from these Torquay hotels and guest houses. You'll be pleasantly surprised at the variety of accommodation that you can select from. As I said before it is important that you book it well in advance of your trip especially if you're planning to visit Torquay during the height of the summer season.

"Lord Jim" Rebuilding a part of History

As a yacht Captain, returning home to Australia from the Mediterranean, Caribbean and the USA for the past seven years, I quickly found work at Brisbane Ship Yard refitting a large sloop.

A young English Captain approached me about a British Flagged yacht called "Lord Jim", which was leaving after three years, He then joined as a deck hand and ended up as the only person left on board after crossing the ocean.

The vessel was at a marina Marina in the Whitsundays, Queensland. It wanted an available Yacht Captain take it to Thailand via The Great Barrier Reef and Cape York. The brochure looked great, as they always do.

It was an old Camper & Nicholson made in 1977 it had a steel hull with aluminum sub structure which was riveted together.

A CV was submitted and forgotten about but then I received a call from the owner who consequently was a psychologist in the motivational business .Of course I was very quickly convinced and took the job.

Arrived at the marina I saw the boat, an quickly realized I was Conned It was very badly looked after, which presented some problems.

The Boat was completely un seaworthy and most of the systems broken down. The Australian Cruise Permit was expired as well as the Ships Registration, the hull and crew insurance expired and the radio licenses expired. Also to this the safety equipment was way out of date.

The old Captain left two days later with the owners disputing his return ticket to England.

As a relief captain Phuket started the rebuild paying bills with my own money to save face, as the promised boat money and boat credit card never arrived.

About 19 month later I arrived at the Yacht Haven Marina in Phuket . I even continued restoring the vessel to her former glory with all systems up and running within a limited budget.

Being Part of the nautical history of this magnificent boat has given me a great sense of pride and I am glad that I finished the Job.

Finding The Perfect Crewed Charter Yachts

If you have ever dreamed of taking a vacation aboard a private yacht charter but thought it was out of reach, think again.  If you do some careful online research you may be able to find a yacht that is affordable but still as luxurious as you had imagined.  Charter yachts are available in a variety of locations, some may not be far from your home.

Count the Costs

Compare the charter fees amongst the various yachts that are available.  Some charters are all inclusive which means they will take care of everything from picking you up at the airport, all your meals, recreational activities, to getting you home.  Then again, some may have hidden costs that you may not have considered which could make one charter seem cheaper but in the end cost more.

Investigate the Charter

Do an online investigation.  You don't want any surprises after you have set sail and are in a remote location. Most of the crewed charter yachts will have a website with beautiful photos, captain and crew backgrounds, maybe even some feedback from people who have traveled aboard their charter. Ask questions such as what type of security do they provide, what would happen in the event of a medical emergency?

Safety and comfort are important issues to address before leaving port. Just as important are the destination, the food, special needs, recreational activities, and the size of the yacht. A yachting vacation should be the trip of a lifetime, relaxing and enjoyable, your every need should be attended to and the location as romantic and beautiful as you had imagined.

Enjoy Your Cruising Experience

Now that we have covered the necessary technical information here is what to expect onboard one of these crewed charter yachts. A typical day of cruising will include exploring private inlets and bays, swimming, fishing and snorkeling or maybe some waterskiing or racing with your friends on a jet ski. You may decide you just want to relax on a private beach improving your suntan. For a cultural experience there is always shopping in a quaint island village or collecting pieces of art from various ports of call.

The yacht will include all the comforts of home but just a bit more luxurious.  Just like in a hotel, your bed will be made and towels laundered so that everything is fresh when enter your cabin each evening.  The crew is only visible when you need them. You set the time schedule for the meals to be prepared. Cocktails will be served as you sit on a lounge chair enjoying the sun and tropical breezes.

If you have made all the proper arrangements and asked all the right questions your vacation aboard a privately crewed charter yacht will not be one you will soon forget.

Planning a Girlfriend Getaway: Six Tips

Between the responsibilities of family and work, sometimes a woman just needs to get away! If you've been looking to book some vacation time with your favorite group of gal pals, you're in luck. There are so many different ways to take part in a girlfriend getaway. With a little planning, you could be just weeks away from your next vacation with friends.

1. Before you start planning, figure out what kind of trip you want to take. Are your friends moms who long for some pampering time? Are you seeing old friends for the first time in years? Is someone celebrating a birthday? All of these occasions call for a different type of get together.

2. Ask each of the women what they want to get out of the experience. Some of your friends may simply want a couple of days to enjoy drinks, games and good times. Others may want a relaxing spa weekend. If you're lucky, everyone will be looking for the same type of experience. But if that doesn't happen, you can come up with some activities that will meet everyone's needs. As long as you cover all of the bases, each of the members of your party will get what they are looking for.

3. If your friends aren't sure what they are looking for, offer them some ideas. Enjoy a mountain retreat, a couple of days at the beach, a relaxing spa weekend or a scrapbooking trip. Send a formal poll out with these options or others to gauge interest for the weekend.

4. Figure out how far you want to travel and how much you want to spend. The price and distance are going to be a big factor in who can come and how far in advance you need to plan the trip. Don't be discouraged if you all can't take the cruise you've dreamed about. You can have just as much fun by visiting the next town over, or traveling by train to a tourist destination. If you're meeting with a group of old friends, it might be better to stay local and visit all of the old places you used to go together.

5. Along with setting a location and a budget, figure out how the finances will be handled. You can save a lot of money by buying package deals at hotels, rental houses and other common vacation destinations. If you aren't interested in sharing a room together, you can rent a house that has a common area and individual rooms. This way you can each have your own space but still keep costs low.

6. Check out online travel sites and resorts that specialize in girlfriend getaways, women's weekends, and other similar packages.
These often cover room, board and activities. These packages offer discounts on all of the parts of your trip so that you can save money. Browse through options from different travel agencies to see if something suits your needs. Two websites to try while you're getting ideas:  Sandals Discount Coupons and SpaFinder.com .
