The Pound is Getter Weaker and Weaker, Say Bye Bye to Sunny Destinations

You have probably been living in the jungle if you are not aware that we have been in one of the worst economic situations that we have had for decades and it does not seem to be getting better any time soon. One of the worst affected countries has to be the UK.

The reason for the big drop is in large part because it reflects Britain's economic prospects. The UK is facing a nasty recession - one that is likely to be as bad as any experienced by the Western world. House prices are falling at the fastest rate
since the 1930s, unemployment is on the rise and will soon climb beyond two million, consumer spending is sliding.

Sterling fell broadly on in 2009; sinking to a fresh 23-year low against the dollar, as data showed the UK economy shrank at its fastest pace since 1980 and confirmed Britain had fallen into recession for the first time in nearly 20 years. The fall marked truly that

The UK has always been known for its strong currency of sterling, it is one of the strongest in the world. UK tourists have always found it nice to go on holidays abroad as it was much cheaper than staying in the UK.

But how times change and things switch around, the sterling has now lost its weight and UK family holidays look as though they will be the next big thing. Already a lot more people are staying in the UK this summer so that they can budget, this has made caravan holidays a lot busier.

Who knows how long the weakness of the sterling will last, the government may even decide to replace it with the Euro if things continue to go how they have been going for the past few months.

For great Family Holidays, UK Family Holidays and Bargain Family Holidays
