Hotels in Alnwick

Alnwick is a small market town situated in the north part of Northumberland, England. As well as being the seat of the Duke of Northumberland, Alnwick is a very picturesque town and it dates back to around 600AD.  There is plenty here for you to explore and also you can travel it is just a short distance to the Scottish border and the town of Berwick Upon Tweed.

Alnwick makes an ideal base for exploring the surrounding Northumberland countryside. The town has a large number of places for you to stay and here we look at just a few of them.

1.     West Acre House is close to the centre of Alnwick and the accommodation it offers is very comfortable. All the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms as well as the usual tea and coffee making facilities. Plus on arrival you will find that fresh fruit and complimentary drinks have been provided. This hotel offers you the chance to explore the town very easily and enjoy the many bars and restaurants it has to offer.

2.    Linhope House is a very imposing Georgian detached property situated close to the centre of the town. It is situated in its own grounds so when the weather is fine and you just want to sit back and relax you can. It is within easy walking distance of both Alnwick Castle and Alnwick Gardens.

3.    Greycroft was built in 1895 and is a Victorian property that has recently been refurbished. Again like the other places we have mentioned in this article it is situated close to the town centre and within a couple of minutes you can be at many of the town's favorite attractions. Greycroft is in a private road and boasts a walled garden for added peace and quiet. However, because it only has five rooms available, 1 large single, three doubles and a suite you need to book this hotel well in advance if you wish to stay here.

4.    The White Swan Hotel is a 300 year old coaching inn and has retained many of the features from its past life. One room that many guests at this hotel enjoy staying in is the Olympic Suite. This room has been decorated using items from the SS Olympic, the sister ship of the fated Titanic. Along with oak paneling the room has mirrors and stained glass windows. Ideally located not just for exploring Alnwick but some of the most unspoilt beaches, coastline and countryside to be found in this part of the UK.

When you next visit Alnwick, choose your hotel in Alnwick from this list.
